Why choose IUI?

A safer and less expensive option for suitable couples and single women

IUI can be carried out without fertility drugs in natural cycles and is a minimally invasive treatment. However, success rate per cycle can be low compared to IVF.

The IUI Procedure

The treatment can occur during the natural cycle or in a stimulated cycle using fertility drugs. If required, a woman’s ovulation can be stimulated with an injection of human Chorionic Gonadatrophin (hCG) to induce the release of eggs.

The male partner will be asked to provide a sperm sample, which is prepared in a laboratory to ensure that only the most potent, high-quality sperm are used in the procedure.

The sperm are then deposited in the uterus via a thin catheter. The entire process takes just a few minutes and is usually pain free.

Sperm donation

In circumstances where the male is unable to produce any healthy sperm, frozen sperm obtained from a donor may be used.
