Modified Natural & Mild Stimulation IVF

We believe that the least drug-intensive and least invasive the treatment the better.

Mild Stimulation IVF treatment is carried out using minimal doses of fertility drugs compared to conventional Stimulated IVF.

Modified Natural IVF involves the collection of a single, naturally selected egg where hCG may be taken to prevent spontaneous ovulation and time egg collection. In addition small doses of drugs are given to reduce the risk of ovulation along with Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH). We can collect more than 1 egg in Modified Natural IVF.

With Mild Stimulation IVF you are either given a lower dose of fertility drugs or are given them over a shorter period than with Stimulated IVF treatments. The treatment is conducted during a woman’s natural menstrual cycle and is aimed at producing between 2-7 eggs.

At CREATE, we encourage people to explore Natural and Mild/Modified IVF treatments in the first instance because the treatment is safer and less invasive.

Why choose Mild Stimulation IVF?

Mild Stimulation IVF does not suppress your natural cycle

Unlike conventional IVF, the fertility drugs used in Mild Stimulation IVF do not suppress your natural cycle. This not only shortens the length of your treatment by around two weeks and avoids menopausal side-effects, but also allows you to have treatment in consecutive cycles.

Mild Stimulation IVF can increase the success rate compared to Natural Cycle IVF in some women

Mild Stimulated IVF treatment is conducted during a woman’s natural menstrual cycle and is aimed at producing 2-7 eggs. In women with good egg reserves the success rate per cycle can be higher with Mild IVF than with Natural Cycle IVF.

Any embryos of suitable quality that are not used in treatment can be frozen and stored for future use.

Mild Stimulation IVF is safer and less expensive than conventional IVF

As Mild Stimulation IVF involves fewer medications, they are safer and reduce the risks and side-effects associated with Stimulated IVF, including the risk of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS).

These treatments are also less expensive as they don’t require high doses of costly medications.

The Modified Natural IVF procedure

As in the natural ovulatory cycle, Modified Natural IVF typically results in the production of a single egg. Following the administration of medications and monitoring, more than one egg can be collected to create more than one embryo for transfer.
