Dr Anastasis Anastasiadis is an Obstetrician Gynaecologist and Consultant in Reproductive Medicine. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens, Greece, having being the recipient of the prestigious six year scholarship "Program Excellence" by the Cyprus State Scholarship Foundation. Following his core training in General Surgery, he completed his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at "Helena Venizelou" General Maternity Hospital, the biggest public Gynaecology Hospital in Athens. He also holds an MSc Degree in Reproductive Medicine ("Research in Female Reproduction"), University of Athens, and is currently reading for a PhD at the same University on the correlation of biomarkers in amniotic fluid with the intrauterine fetal growth.
Through his affiliation with the Athens University Gynaecological Ultrasound Department, as a Scientific Associate, Anastasis acquired experience in gynaecological ultrasound scanning, including Doppler and perfusion studies, 3D and 4D scanning. He then undertook a two year subspecialty Clinical Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at the Hewitt Fertility Centre based at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, one of the busiest IVF Clinics in Europe at the biggest Women’s Hospital in the UK. This fellowship enabled him to acquire extensive experience in the management of multiple IVF cycles in couples experiencing infertility. Having performed thousands of egg collections and embryo transfers he has encountered and supported many couples undergoing a variety of challenging fertility treatments. He is also an expert in performing embryo transfers under 4D ultrasound guidance, transmyometrial embryo transfers if needed and minimal invasive procedures such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy when recommended.
Dr Anastasiadis is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology and the British Fertility Society. He has participated and presented in numerous international conferences, symposia and congresses. He has published articles in peer reviewed medical journals, was a peer reviewer for online international journals and co-investigator in a European multicentre trial in poor responders. He is an ALSO instructor and has taught Obstetrics and Gyneacology in nursing and midwifery vocational training schools.
With his advanced skills in fertility diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, Anastasis is very interested in promoting good practice, active in continuously developing new treatment protocols using the most recent evidence base, and passionate about patient focused and individually tailor-made treatments that meet patients’ needs.
